Posted by Pakcan.com under PCA Press Releases , PCA in the MediaIn a report aired by CTV on Friday September 22nd, Liberal Minister and Defense Critic Ujjal Dosanjh said ‘Pakistan is harboring terrorists.’ In other words Mr. Dosanjh is claiming that the Government of Pakistan is purposely providing shelter to known terrorists. My Dear Ujjal Dosanjh,
It has come to my attention that during an interview with CTV you made a comment that Pakistan was harbouring terrorists. This statement is a misinformed one and deeply insulting to the Pakistani-Canadian community for Pakistan has been at the forefront in opposing terrorism and is actively involved on many levels to eradicate this scourge to humanity.
You have through your service as an MP and as Premier of the Province of British Columbia been a friend and supporter of the Pakistani-Canadian community. Such ill advised comments as you had made during your interview serve only to damage our relations with our government and you as an elected Member of Parliament
As a trustee of the Islamic Trust of the Pakistan Canada Association, an organization founded by my Father and your old Friend, the late Riasat Ali Khan, I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to meet with our community to engage in a constructive dialogue that will help to strengthen our links as Canadians of Pakistani origin with our government and to consult with us to better organize a unified strategy to combat terrorism. We seek to encourage Canada to strengthen its ties with Pakistan to effectively combat the terrorism and extremism that is a threat to us all. Through your support and dialogue with the Pakistani-Canadian community we can take the first steps towards achieving that aim.
Thanking you for your kind cooperation in resolving this matter.
Yours truly,
Haroon A. Khan
